A proper and safe brake job begins with a road test to determine if there is a brake or pedal pulsation with car pulling in one direction or another when the brakes are applied. The technician will also be listening for any squealing or grinding noises emitting from the brake system. Then the vehicle will be brought in lifted on the hoist and have all the wheels removed for a visual inspection of the brake system. All the components will then be measured and checked to see if they are still within safety specifications. A thorough estimate will then be prepared and presented to YOU for your approval of the required repairs.
Brake Rotors – Brake Pads – South Edmonton Brake Specialists
We install only high quality new parts, from new brake rotors and brake pads to repairing or replacing emergency brake cables, and park brake shoes. All assembled pieces are cleaned and lubricated when installed to insure they will function safely and not stick or seize.
With today’s traction control and antilock brake systems it is imperative that the brake fluid is clean. The motors and pumps that make these systems work safely rely on clean fluid.
The hydraulic system consists of a master cylinder, brake callipers, and wheel cylinders. There are also rubber brake flex hoses and steel lines in the system. They are thoroughly inspected for irregular wear, leakage and cracking. They are only replaced if they exhibit any these symptoms or the brakes have uneven wear.
Brake fluid is a hygroscopic fluid (It absorbs Moisture) It is therefore recommended that the brake system should be flushed every two years or 40,000 km’s to ensure a safe and properly functioning system.
